SEOUL, Korea - Tuesday April 9, 2024 - b.stage, a fandom business total solution, announced today it has obtained the International Standard Privacy Management System (ISO 27701) certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Additionally, b.stage has successfully passed the surveillance audit for the International Standard Information Security Management System (ISO 27001) certification. With this, b.stage has acquired all top-tier domestic and international information security certifications, including the ISMS-P certification — Korea's most authoritative integrated information security certification — proving its capability to establish a secure IT infrastructure for the global fandom business.
b.stage's newly acquired ISO 27701 certification is the most prestigious international certification in the field of personal information protection. This certification was awarded after b.stage successfully met all 49 management criteria across eight areas mandated by the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR). These criteria encompass the collection and processing of personal data, as well as system safety. With the ISO 27701 certification, b.stage now possesses privacy capabilities on par with major global organizations, a significant milestone that will help accelerate its global business expansion.
The company also excelled in the follow-up audit for ISO 27001, a certification it first received in April of 2023. Last month, in March 2024, BSI Korea, a leading global certification body for international standards, conducted a surveillance audit. Following the audit, b.stage successfully maintained its certification after a thorough review of its information protection management and controls, including physical and environmental security, as well as network security. Notably, b.stage was acknowledged for its world-class security capabilities by passing the certification audit on its own merit, without the aid of external consulting. This achievement underscores b.stage’s commitment to establishing a global standard in information security and privacy management from the outset of its business operations.
Leveraging the stability and reliability of its proven IT infrastructure services, b.stage is set to further expand its global business and enhance its security capabilities to align with global trends.
"As a global fandom business leader in the era of ‘fandom tech,’ b.stage has been striving to enhance its stability and reliability,” says Kim Ung-jeong, Chief Information Security officer at bemyfriends, the company behind b.stage. “As the importance of information security and privacy continues to grow globally, we are committed to strengthening our security measures. This ensures that our customers can safely grow their fandom businesses on b.stage."
From the start of its development, b.stage has focused on building a strong information protection system by prioritizing security and analyzing vulnerabilities through simulated hacking exercises and external security audits. Going forward, b.stage will keep enhancing its reliable service by incorporating a range of features, including fandom data analysis, marketing, and the introduction of datalabs—a new feature rolled out in February. Additionally, it will offer optimized growth tools designed to help customers to succeed in their fandom businesses.
