bemyfriends Swings to Operating Profit in Q2 as Global IP Superfan Business Hits Full Stride

  • b.stage runs community, membership and merchandising for global IPs as one integrated "Fandom Business 360" operation
  • Major global IPs including Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" and BIGBANG develop fandom businesses on the platform
  • Client fandom businesses grow as multiple revenue engines run in parallel, entering a sustainable profit structure

SEOUL, Korea - July 29, 2026 — bemyfriends, a global superfan business company led by CEO Steve Seo, swung to an operating profit in the second quarter of 2026. The turnaround follows the full-scale monetization of its "Fandom Business 360" model, in which global IP holders operate community, membership, merchandising and e-commerce as a single integrated business on the fandom business solution b.stage.

b.stage connects fandom operations that were previously fragmented — community, membership, merchandising, and global e-commerce and logistics — into one platform. That integrated model translated into results with major IPs during the quarter. Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" ran a membership program and global pop-ups anchored by an official community launched on b.stage, and BIGBANG opened a b.stage-based platform in May. IPs beyond K-pop, including the esports organization T1, also carried out fandom activities through b.stage.

bemyfriends also recently built FLO ZIP, the fandom platform of its subsidiary Dreamus Company, on b.stage. The new launch puts the full IP value chain — from music distribution through to fandom — into commercial practice, delivering synergy at the group level.

The significance of the turnaround lies not in any single business line but in the fact that each engine played its part to complete the profit structure: the platform itself, fan communication, merchandising, global logistics, and the platform fees generated by fandom activity. Client fandom businesses built on b.stage have grown steadily, establishing a stable revenue base that does not depend on one-off events.

bemyfriends has built a new standard for the fandom business by embedding know-how accumulated in K-pop fandom into its platform and extending it to global IPs. As more global content IPs such as Netflix adopt the Korean fandom operating model — running from community to membership to pop-ups — the success formula created by K-pop is spreading across the global IP industry.

"A fandom business settles into a working profit structure the moment several revenue engines run together on a single platform," said Woo-seok Seo, CEO of bemyfriends. "This turnaround is a signal that b.stage can deliver a sustainable fandom business across global IPs, not just in K-pop." He added, "We will continue to expand our solutions and business areas so that IP holders worldwide can grow their own fandom business with b.stage alone."

More than 400 fandom platforms are currently running on b.stage, with over 1,200 artists and a cumulative total of more than 13 million registered users. In the second half of the year, bemyfriends plans to expand its fandom business for global IPs and its enterprise partnerships, accelerating the growth of the global fandom business ecosystem.
