- Releases a software development kit (SDK) for building and owning proprietary apps and independent fandom platforms
- IP holders gain 100% direct ownership — from platform operations to data, revenue, and fan relationships
- Membership, community, and global commerce — the fandom logic standardized by K-POP comes built in, lowering the development burden while preserving flexibility
SEOUL, Korea - Aug. 13, 2026 - Global fandom platform b.stage has released a software development kit (SDK) for IP holders. The development tool enables IP holders such as artists and brands to build and own their own apps and independent fandom platforms directly, with content, sports, and gaming companies that hold fandoms as its primary users. The move responds to a broader shift in fandom business — from joining large shared platforms toward IP holders owning platforms of their own.
An SDK is a toolkit that lets developers use pre-built technical components rather than building every function from scratch. With it, IP holders can build and expand fandom services in the form they want.
Until now, building a proprietary fandom platform required a large development organization and years of investment, keeping it within reach of only a handful of major players. A transition similar to the one e-commerce underwent — from selling through large open marketplaces to building and owning direct-to-consumer brand stores — is now taking shape in the fandom industry. As the complex functions of fandom business become productized as infrastructure, and the development layered on top grows lighter in the AI era, the barrier to entry is falling.
With the b.stage SDK, IP holders can integrate fandom-specific features into their existing websites or apps, or operate an independent fandom platform of their own. Because b.stage already has built-in fandom business logic standardized by K-POP — including membership, real-time two-way communication, and commerce and logistics across 220 countries — core features need not be developed from scratch and can be deployed with ease. Clients can freely customize b.stage to the form they want, while relying on proven infrastructure for the fandom logic itself.
What sets it apart is ownership: unlike models where multiple IPs share a single app, IP holders retain 100% direct ownership of the platform, fan data, and revenue structure. They can manage fan data directly for marketing and design revenue models suited to their own business.
Adoption is already underway. Multiple global IP companies, spanning K-POP and actors, are operating their own fan communities based on b.stage technology. b.stage infrastructure has also been applied to FLO ZIP, the global fandom platform launched by Dreamus Company, a subsidiary of bemyfriends.
"The competition in fandom business is shifting from 'whose platform do you meet fans on' to 'who owns the relationship with fans,'" said Steve Seo, CEO of bemyfriends. "b.stage will build the fandom business logic created by K-POP into standard infrastructure that IP holders worldwide can construct as their own."
b.stage currently works with more than 400 global clients, serving over 1,200 artists and IPs. Built on its "Fandom Business 360" model spanning fan community, content, and commerce, the company plans to continue advancing its business as a fandom business partner supporting IP holders in building their fandom operations.
