SEOUL, Korea - Monday, April 15, 2024 - Gen.G Esports, a global esports organization, has launched its official membership platform in collaboration with b.stage, a fandom business total solution. Leveraging b.stage’s Membership feature, the organization has opened recruitment for its first official membership program, Gen.G Crew.
Gen.G is a global esports organization managing world-class teams across multiple game leagues, including League of Legends (LoL), VALORANT, and PUBG: Battlegrounds. Notably, the Gen.G LoL team achieved a historic victory in the 2024 LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea) Spring by securing their fourth consecutive championship — the first team ever to accomplish this feat in LCK history.
On April 14, during the 2024 LCK Spring Finals, Gen.G began on-site recruitment for "Gen.G Crew," a membership program designed for fans of the Gen.G LoL team. Members will have the opportunity to directly interact with star players like Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, Jung "Chovy" Ji-hoon, Kim "Peyz" Soo-hwan, and Son "Lehends" Si-u via the b.stage. They will also enjoy exclusive benefits, including a welcome kit, access to the fan zone at domestic meetings and matches, and exclusive content. Going forward, Gen.G plans to enhance the membership experience with opportunities for pre-purchasing exclusive merchandise and earning digital rewards through b.stage, further fostering a sense of loyalty and community among its global fan base.
“For a long time, we have been considering various methods like social media and community platforms to more closely connect our players, clubs, and global fans," states Lee Ji-hoon, Director of Gen.G Esports. "We chose to adopt b.stage as our membership-based service because it offers unique features that set it apart from other platforms, enhancing our global fandom business. By providing more benefits to the Gen.G LoL Team fandom, we aim to increase fan loyalty and foster a positive fan culture.”
"As a successful fandom business partner of domestic and overseas eSports teams, b.stage has been recognized as a membership platform that strengthens the unity of fans with players and teams," states Kiyoung Lee, co-CEO of bemyfriends. "Leveraging b.stage's extensive fandom business experience and technology, we are committed to helping Gen.G expand its global fan base and develop a sustainable, diversified revenue model for the organization."
To mark the pre-opening of the membership platform, Gen.G is offering exclusive, unreleased behind-the-scenes footage from the LoL Team documentary series "Change The Game" at no cost.
